Overview

The Production Artist (PA) is responsible for developing and releasing files from creative layouts for print and digital production. Also executes client changes through rounds, and mock-ups for client presentations.  The candidate will be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, with higher levels of expertise in InDesign and Photoshop.  Photo retouching, image editing and color management skills are required to ensure accurate art and photography reproduction.  The PA will be skilled in digital media production to prepare creative files for hand off to developers; equally as skilled in pre-press print production to accurately release final mechanicals, art/photography to agency print vendors.

What you'll do:

  • Work in full partnership with the production and creative departments to maintain integrity of design and ensure adherence to specifications
  • Revise creative files during round reviews based on client and internal edits, accurately and efficiently
  • Retouche photos, including color correction and image manipulation of all hi-res photography and art/assets for print and digital production
  • Follow print specifications and digital requirements for constructing files and building mock-ups
  • Ensure final mechanicals are accurate and error-free, including file construction, organization and prepping of files for print or digital output
  • Accurately release final print mechanicals and digital files to agency vendors
  • Adhere to ever-changing deadlines while consistently delivering accurate rounds and final files for release
  • Create support materials in Power Point and Keynote for marketing and sales pitches
  • Remain up-to-date on the latest developments in software applications, printing techniques and production and digital technologies
  • Maintain archives of final mechanicals and photography files
  • Accurately and consistently report all time worked in Hub

Who you are:

  • You have general understanding of integrated direct marketing principles
  • You are highly skilled and efficient in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud - InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • You are strong with photo retouching, color correction and image manipulation 
  • You have a high-level understanding of graphic design, including page layout and typography - equal parts technical skill and design sensibility
  • You know the latest developments in software applications, digital and print production
  • You are highly organized with an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and simultaneously handle multiple projects with total accuracy and attention to detail
  • You work well as a team player in a flexible, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
  • You have excellent visual and verbal communication skills

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in visual communications/graphic design, fine art, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Wide-ranging portfolio focused on direct marketing campaigns with a strong print and digital emphasis including design and production expertise
  • 0-2 years experience as a Production Artist
