Overview

The Vice President, Account Services (VPAS) is responsible for building relationships between the agency and one or more of the major clients, as well as acquiring new business for the agency. The VPAS will generally look after client needs through direct contact, liaison, and the marshalling of agency resources. The VPAS is responsible for building and maintaining a profitable account portfolio, while driving excellence in Rauxa’s creative and strategic output. The VPAS is directly responsible for agency growth and profitability.   

 

The VPAS leads and guides the development of overall client priorities and business objectives, providing ongoing strategic direction for each assigned account. He/she oversees multiple accounts or groups of accounts within Rauxa. The VPAS focuses on leading and developing positive client relationships at the highest levels, maintaining overall account health to achieve revenue growth for the agency. Responsibilities include orchestrating and developing account team members, providing strategic leadership, driving revenue growth, and contributing to the broader organizational development. 

 

The VPAS will be an active, day-to-day agency representative to the client and will maintain a highly responsive service orientation in all transactions. They must be knowledgeable in both the client’s business and the agency business.  The VPAS reviews all creative concepts and strategic recommendations to confirm alignment with the client’s business objectives before they are presented to the client. 

What you'll do:

 

            Account Management

  • Establish and meets annual and monthly sales goals
  • Maintain direct, day-to-day, senior level client contact and supervises one or more key accounts
  • Partner with the Client Service team to manage job-level and account-level profitability of the business
  • Partner with the Client Service team to ensure proper agency support is allocated to client jobs
  • Review and approves all job launch briefs prior to project kick-offs
  • Analyze client input, together with background knowledge to direct the internal Rauxa team
  • Provide internal teams with well-documented input, support data, and production materials as required
  • Manage client annual budgets and communicates updates to clients as needed
  • Keep appraised of all relevant client products/services/marketing developments
  • Partner with the Client Service team to develop project quotes & schedules for client approval 
  • Review and approves all final creative materials, such as proofs, staging sites/pages, or test emails prior to final client delivery
  • Effectively presents, sells, and defends all agency work/proposals to clients
  • Actively seek additional projects/new business from client contacts and prospects
  • Partner with the Client Service team to ensure that projects are delivered to clients on time and on budget and of a high standard of excellence 

 

Strategic Leadership

  • Act as a strategic leader within the organization to generate ideas for making the agency stronger and more efficient
  • Lead major strategic initiatives for accounts
  • Work in a proactive manner to provide the client with thought leadership and strategic guidance, determining the best solutions to fulfill the needs of the client
  • Maintain a superior level of knowledge in all aspects of relationship marketing, including expertise in both direct mail and digital engagement vehicles.
  • Maintain a superior knowledge of data analytics and can clearly articulate the value it brings to our clients

 

Account Team Leadership

  • Partner with the Director of Client Service to determine support staff needs for assigned accounts
  • Determine when there is a need for a new Account Director to develop new accounts or grow an existing piece of business
  • Work with Human Resources to identify and interview Account Director candidates
  • Ensure that all required paperwork is completed for each candidate and new hire
  • Negotiate salary and compensation details with AD candidates
  • Oversee the on-boarding process from acceptance of offer through initial training, ensuring that the new Account Director is integrated into the agency and feels part of the team
  • Participate in the ongoing training of Account Supervisors and Account Directors by mentoring on a continuous basis, such as assisting in internal team kick-offs and strategy meetings, assisting in preparing materials for prospect/client presentations and meetings, and attending client/prospect meetings
  • Meet weekly with Account Directors and Account Supervisors to review client and prospect attack plans and discuss business growth objectives 
  • Meet monthly with Account Directors and Account Supervisors to review sales reports, budgets, and goals to ensure account profitability and progress towards goals
  • Conduct annual performance reviews of Account Directors

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required 
  • Strong business development, production, data and marketing background
  • Experience in multiple direct marketing channels such as direct mail, email, digital and social media required
  • Advertising, direct marketing or digital agency experience required
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years related industry experience
